This is the new card sketch, for this week.

Another one that I really like. This card is for my

mother. :)  I actually hauled out my cuttlebug and

embossed the background image then went over

it with ink.  I used watercolor pencils for the rose.

There is some glitter on the rose and butterflies but

it's hard to tell in the picture.

This was last weeks card challenge. I really like this sketch.

Makes a fun birthday card. :)

A little break ....

Spent a few hours this morning at my scrap table. Yay!

Got two cards made but need to make more. April is a

busy birthday month for my family. So hopefully,

I will have some more cards to post in the next week or so.

Another busy weekend of renovations ahead. But we are getting

closer. :)

Birthday cards

Finally took some time to sit at my scrap table. I needed to make

two birthday cards.

Been too long ....

Once again it's been too long since I have posted on my blog.

I really need to try and start posting more often.

Anyhoo, here are my cards for this year.

I LOVE this Santa stamp. It belongs to a friend who I only get to see

occassionally. Sadly, when I borrowed her stamp at a crop, I only

stamped a few images. Now I am wishing I had stamped more. :(

I will be keeping a eye out for this stamp to add to my collection.

Mother's Day & card sketch challenge

I came across this post and loved the idea of the handmade

flowers. So I decided to give it a try. I made a few flowers

using the technique they posted and then made a few from

a different technique. (Which is basically circles shaped into petals.

I used a Classico Alfredo sauce jar, luckily I had two, and put

raffia inside. I found some mahogony colored raffia at the

dollarstore which is also where I got the tiny dowels that I glued

the flowers on. I just used a ink pad to color them green.

I made and added pinwheels just to have a little something else

in there. :)

The cards I made are based on a card sketch posted by Gloria.

I used the same color papers and made similar flowers for on the

cards just so it all matches. :)

These are for my Mom and Aaron's Mom for Mother's Day.

Liverpool Scrap Retreat

Last weekend my friend and I attended a weekend

scrap retreat. So much fun! We are looking forward to the

next one. :):)

Productive Day

Paula and I attended a day crop on Saturday in

New Ross. I was quite happy to complete my recipe cards

for a recipe swap (12 in total) and complete 2 layouts.

Hopefully the weather will co-operate and we'll be

able to attend the next day crop in February.

Maybe .... :O

I would love to make this set.

(Minus the tassels)

Once I am a bit more confident with the

needles then I may try this.

Using the same colors too, my fave colors.

Learning to Knit

Thanks to Aaron's Ma, I am learning to knit. :) It's something

that I've wanted to learn for awhile now. I had picked up some books

but couldn't get anywhere with them. I needed someone to actually

show me how to do the stitches, how to cast on and cast off.

This is my first project, just straight knitting. Easy but good for practise.

Then I decided to go all crazy and combine stitches and

learn to follow a pattern. This one didn't turn out the best

but it's ok.

My next attempt at using a pattern and diferent stitches.

A little bit better. :)

Altered Projects

A bit late posting these .... these were Christmas gifts.

I also made 2 BG calendar kits and a mini album which

I didn't take pictures of. :(

Obviously, this was for my fiance. It is a picture frame

which I got from the dollarstore. The little stand came with it.

Of course, it is much sparklier IRL.

This hanging wood piece also came from a Dollarama.

I only picked up one and now I am kicking my butt for not

picking up more.

This was for my Best Friend. :) And she Loves it. :)
