MOJO IS A NO GO

Well it appears that the no-mojo bug has hit. :(
I can't believe it's been a month already and
I have NOT completed one layout or participated
in any challenges ... sigh. I really hope this
no-mojo bug goes away soon. I am hoping with the
start of christmas cards and gifts, which HAVE to
be done lol, that the no-mojo bug will bugger off
and leave me alone. heehee
So here is the start of my christmas cards.
I used the new BG card kit "Eskimo Kisses"
LOVE this kit. Just wish it made more than
8 cards .. LOL.

This weeks challenge is to doodle on your layout.
Click on the picture to see a closer look at the

It is much more vibrant IRL.

World Card Making Day - Part 2

A fun card sketch challenge posted on the
Love Is In The Details blog
A great card sketch to work with.

World Card Making Day - Part 1

A fun challenge posted by Trish at
Canadian ScrapSwapChat
The rules to follow are:
1. A card for a male and a card for a female. (Yes one of each)
2. You must use at least one handmade embelllishment on each card.
3. No less than 3 Techniques on each card.
4. Have an awesome time making them.
For this card I used alcohol inks on the star which
I cut out by hand. I also distressed edges and inked.
Also used shimmerz mist but it is hard to see.

For this card I used a cuttlebug embossing folder
and I rubbed metalic paint over the image.
Also inked, layered and stamped.

This is the inside of the card where I handmade
the largest outer shape, traced from a template.

Birthday card

I made this birthday card last night for Chloe.
I could've blinged it up more but she is
turning 7 ... so it will probably get opened and
then tossed aside. LOL
I LOVE this stamp .... which I received from
from Vanessa in a prize pack. And also
the paper doily. :)
It's hard to see but I used stickles to make her
shiny and glittery. I colored her in using
watercolor pencils ... I love those things, I need
to get more colors.

Scrapping Out Loud blog challenge

Motif Madness!!
This weeks challenge is to use a single
motif throughout your layout.
I chose circles. I stamped circles on
the larger circle outline and on the black cs.
My layout is based on the sketch they provided.
And WOTW: cutest

Mix It Up ! blog challenge

Mixer #29
This week's mixer is a product challenge.
You must use alumium and masking tape!
Cool!
The circles are chipboard covered with
tinfoil that are painted with black paint. And the strip at
the bottom is tinfoil painted with black paint as well.
I used pieces of masking tape for
my journaling strips.
My layout is based on their posted sketch!

A New Adventure ....

in the land of crafts. lol
I just recently purchased 3 new crafty books that
are non scrapbooking related. Amazing huh? lol
But how could I resist this book? Look at their faces.
They are toooo stinkin' cute. Even Jaleesa is quite
excited to learn how to make these cuties.
Now, to go find some stray socks.

I've always wanted to learn how to knit. I hope this book
will help. I really want to make some scarves
and socks. I love knitted socks.
We'll see how that goes.
Gotta buy some needles and yarn first tho .. LOL.

This book has some really cute and adorable
ideas for christmas. Can't wait to get started
on some of the crafts in this book.

I will post pics along the way ... once I get started.

b'day card which I needed.
Thanks Gloria. :)

Twisted Sketches Blog challenge

Twisted Sketch #14
The twist this week is to use metal.
For some reason this layout and I just
are not getting along today.
I completed the layout and had it here to post
then changed my mind ... it looked too busy.
Changed the paper around ... then came back here
to re-post. Realized I forgot the "twist" part.
Back to the scrap table I go to add staples
and brads.
Oh my .... and I still am not liking it.

PageMaps blog contest

Studio Calico sketch contest
A wonderful sketch ...
I changed it around a bit. :)
For some reason I had a hard time
getting a decent picture. :(

Scrapping Out Loud blog challenge

This weeks challenge at SOL:
A Tribute to all English teachers!
"Since I am an English Teacher by day (Frances), I thought it would be fun to give a little tribute to the hard working, grammatically correct, subject/verb agreeing English teacher. We are asking you to use a quote for your title, but wait there's more, in addition to your quote we want you to use only one part of speech in your journaling. By part of speech we mean your journaling needs to be all nouns, all adjectives, all verbs, all interjections, all adverbs, all prepositions, or all pronouns. Now that is a challenge!"
Also, my layout is a "tweaked" scraplift
of Rachel's page. :)

Canadian Scrap n Chat

Made this recipe card for a recipe swap at
Canadian Scrap n Chat.
My recipe is Berried Treasure Pie, so that
is the theme I used for my recipe card.
I sanded the front of the card and used
distressing ink and then sprayed with
Shimmerz Spritz. It was a bit time consuming
cutting out and glueing on the little strips
for 10 cards ... LOL ... but it was worth it.
I am quite pleased with how they turned out.
I hope the ladies will like them. :)

Scrapping Out Loud blog challenge

Scrap out of season!
Our challenge for this week.....We all buy products for those certain time of year, Christmas, Halloween, Fourth of July, Valentine's Day..etc. So why not experiment and use seasonal products unconventionally? For example..snowflakes could be spring flower centers, halloween spiders on a summer page...Those products will never get used up otherwise! Think outside of the seasonal box!
My layout is based on a sketch they provided.
